But I couldn't manage time for travel friends family and studies. This shouldn't be an excuse but I have never been that serious about the career so things have slipped away. Let me see when I will be serious about my career and try learning newer things hehe.

"Can you name the tools out there in the Market? similar to Cognos? Very few from south India would explore a new place like the way you have done. I think you juiced out every bit out of the last one year. Very cool.

Having said that, as one of my buddies states ' make it better when the going is good' with respect to HEALTH, but I think also applies to taking our work skills forward when there is no pressure at work and ample amount of leisure.

It gives a very good feeling when I look back and see how I prepared and passed the below 3 certifications using the 2 hour up and down time ,while travelling to and from work every day for a period of 6 months, during late 2001 and early 2002.

1. Oracle 8i Database Administration.
2. Oracle Developer certification for Oracle developer suite rel2.
3. Oracle 6i Internet application developer.

Yes, I failed in a similar effort to get the fourth certification in 2004/2005 i.e. Oracle 9ias application server admin. But the preparation gave me a lot of knowledge of Oracle application server.

As for the year 2008, I picked up Cognos 8 skills :), and substantial relevant business knowledge in the domain ( Energy Trading ).

Looking at Energy Risk Analyst certification offered by GARP ( Global Association of Risk Professionals) as a possible goal for 2009. On the technical side, my curiosity of knowing more of the humble EXCEL is increasing every day.

Keep the 'Mr.Cool' thing going :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29937475.post-76492116483896398562008-10-22T20:43:00.000+08:002008-10-22T20:43:00.000+08:00Can you name the tools out there in the Market? si...Can you name the tools out there in the Market? similar to Cognos ?

All of them.

Might take some research.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
