Aamir - Good Movie

Last night I have a seen a movie which is some what different to the regular masala stuff. Most of the audience want the regular masala moves while there is other type of audience who would admire the movies which are off beat and which would make a real sense rather than the masala non sense. This movie I felt was closer to life and have something in it which would make us to think. If you are the second kind of audience then Aamir is surely the one to watch for.

The story is all about a common man who becomes victim of a terrorist group. It is a must watch drama for people who loves movie with difference and quality. The director for the movie Rajkumar Gupta made his debut with this movie. He surely deserves appreciation for his first timer. It is really good to see for debutant director picking up such a different subject and making movie upon it.

Movie has no superstar from bollywood. Rajeev Khandelwal is another debutant who is the leading star in the movie. You can never make out that this is his first movie. He acted to perfection and the emotions can be clearly read from his expressions. Personally I always like movies with lot of comedy. Even though this movie dont have any of the important elements I loved the movie.

Coming to story, The story starts of with this statement: "Kaun Kehta Hain Aadmi Apna Kisamt Khud Likhta Hain". Its about a muslim doctor returning home from London. As soon as he reaches Mumbai airport he finds himself and his family in big trouble. Its a one day suspense and thriller drama in his life. The story just moves on and keeps you on the edge of the seat thinking about what next scene could be. Every instance of movie is packed with suspense and thrill, every next sequence makes you even more puzzled.

Even though I am not a great critic I would say Director, Leading Character, Background music, Cinematography and camera work are really good. As said earlier movie is not for everyone. Overall a must watch for people looking for quality and want a break from main stream cinema.
My Rating for the movie would be 3/5

Jaane Tu ... Ya Jaane Na

Yesterday evening Santosh called me and said he booked tickets for this movie. The first expression was like why this movie. I didnt really know the Hero or the director. I just knew that its Aamir productions and Rehman music. So I went into the hall thinking that the movie should atleast be good.

The movie started in a different way with a story telling. First 5 or 10 minutes I still had the doubt on the movie. But once the movie started to move on, I didnt really felt that I was sitting there for more than 2 and half hours. The movie didnt have any big stars. It just had some simple kiddoos who could act. It didnt really have a great story. It just had a story which wouldnt bore us. Its an all and all youthful, romantic comedy movie.

The movie has all the necessary elements in it. It has Romance, Comedy, Sentiment, Fight, Friendship, Dance, Music, Songs, Freshness. Overall I would rate it 8 out of 10.

My New Phone

After using Nokia 6600 for more than 3 years finally I was able to buy a new phone for myself. I have done lot of research and finally decided on 3 phones. Nokia N95, HTC Touch Cruise and Sony Erricsson w960i. Because of some problems I couldnt afford any of these three phones. So finally decided to go for something cheaper and something which has more features. I was always fascinated to have a touch phone and a phone with good camera. After lot of research again I finalised on Sony Erricsson p1i. This has almost all the features of Sony Erricsson w960i other than the 8GB memory. Finally yesterday I bought this phone and I am right now exploring the options in the phone.

Key features:

* Symbian 9.1 OS with UIQ 3 user interface
* QWERTY keyboard
* 2.6" 262K colors TFT touchscreen display

* Memory Stick Micro M2 memory card slot
* UMTS, Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, USB, Infrared
* Secondary camera for video calls
* Walkman-grade MP3 player and FM radio with RDS
* Jog Dial navigation

Main disadvantages:

* Awkward keyboard
* No HSDPA support
* No EDGE support

Perfect Bachelors Weekend

I am living the single life for 8 months now. I used to get amused thinking of people leading a bachelors life away from family. I heard of boozing, dancing, going out etc. Finally I had this perfect weekend in my singapore bachelors life. It inculded crate of beers, eating out, pub & disco, night out etc.

Saturday afternoon I, Nagaraj, Srinivas and Santosh went out for shopping as we heard of some discount sale. We did one of the biggest mistakes to go there with out seeing the * in the advertisement. We were disappointed. We had Turkish ice cream at Clarke Quay and came back home. On the way back we planned to booze. There was an offer going on in Fair Price, so we decided to go there and buy a crate of beer which was being sold for just 48SGD. It was really nice to see the fridge filled with so many beer cans.

We headed home and started taking those tins one after other from 6PM. We had some snacks along with beer. We sat and chatted for sometime and then thought of watching a movie and we decided on bommarillu and pokiri. It was at 9PM that we decided to go out and have some food. We went to the nearby food court and had some fried race and came back home and had some more beer. It was 11PM then we decided to go to Clarke Quay for disco.

At 12 midnight we were at Rupee Room pub in Clarke Quay. Took the entrance ticket and entered the pub. With each ticket we also got a drink free which we took Vodka with Sprite. We danced till 4 in the morning. Though we missed girls in the group but still we had a great time dancing to those hindi numbers. We came back home at 4.30 and thought of drinking some more beer but the beer was transformed to ice as we kept it in deep fridge.

We saw Dubai Seenu movie till morning 5.30 and then slept. We were 5 people there and we just had 2 beds available. So one slept on couch 2 on beds and 2 on the ground. Everybody was tired and slept till late in the morning. We started waking up one after other from 10AM to 12noon. We got ready and thought of going out for dinner as we were all very hungry.

We went to a Japanese restaurant. The food there was awesome. It was very spicy and the taste was also really good and it was healthy food. After the good meal we came back home and my friends wanted to finish the remaining beers. I was very tired and fell asleep while Nagaraj and Srinivas completed the crate. Even they slept for sometime after having beers. In the evening at around 7 we again went out for dinner and left to our respective houses.

It was a simple but great weekend.
